The story of Hunkydory Crafts began back in 1990, at a humble little wool and needlecraft shop in Preston town centre. Founded by Ann and David Newhouse, their passion for crafting grew as they began to supply papercraft products. This idea came from simply buying peel-off stickers to add greetings to handmade cards, and with this, something far bigger grew.
In 2002, Ann and David introduced Cardcraft Plus, a mail order craft company, allowing customers to order products direct to their door. In the beginning, it was difficult to source enough quality products to fill their regular catalogues. The passion for crafting ran in the family, and to help, they recruited their two sons, Adam and Daniel, who helped the family business flourish.
The in-house catalogue designers were also crafting enthusiasts, and before long had started designing their own cardmaking products which became best-selling products for Cardcraft Plus. The demand for these impressive cardmaking supplies was so high that in 2007, Hunkydory Crafts was born as a company and brand under which to wholesale these original papercraft designs.
Over the years, Hunkydory Crafts has grown exponentially, supplying papercraft products globally and showcasing them on HobbyMaker TV. We have since become the UK’s premier papercraft manufacturer!
